Dion’s been working at Rainbow Springs for just over three years in our Customer Services department and as a Kiwi Encounter Guide Extraodinaire, and he has been described by his work mates as flamboyant, bubbly and hilarious (and uses lots of hair gel!)
Dion was born in Rotorua and lived here all his life. Before joining the Rainbow Springs team, Dion spent years working with horses, first as an apprentice jockey then working with some of New Zealand’s top riders helping train their horses.

Horse riding, music, going out dancing and shoes!
Any thing you hate?
Cruelty to animals, and cruelty to people for that matter. Can’t stand watching any sports.
Favourite foods?
Boil up, Roast dinners, and pork buns. Can’t stand anything with coriander in it.
Any Pets?
My dog ‘Shy’, although she’s anything but! She’s a six year old Rottweiler Cross.
Star Sign?
Aries.
Favourite celebrity?
Jessica Alba and Shrek.
Favourite singer?
Has to be Whitney Houston, before the drugs! I love Kelly Clarkson and UB40 too. I’m into just about any kind of music – R & B, Hip Hop, Classical – even a bit of Heavy Metal.
Got any bad habits?
Smoking - not as much as I used to though!
Favourite part of your job?
Meeting heaps of different people and guiding groups through Kiwi Encounter
If there is anything in the world you could be, what is it?
A diamond – it’s strong, solid, beautiful and lasts forever. And expensive!!
