Grey Teal
This gregarious and vocal duck is a mottled brown-grey colour with white and green flashes on its wings and red eyes.
They are at home in almost any watery habitat, nesting near freshwater lakes and marshes on the ground, in rabbit burrows or in tree hollows. A native of New Zealand originally from Australia, you can also find grey teal in New Guinea, Vanuatu and Solomon Islands.
